Measuring Torque in the Texas Oil Field

Posted on February 24, 2016

Texas oil field companies use the Intercomp TL8500 Tension Link Dynamometers to measure the torquing force. As this equipment is serviced and assembled, these precision measurement devices play a vital role in ensuring proper specifications are achieved while also improving operational efficiency and safety.

“Our customers love the precision they get from the Intercomp TL8500 Tension Links,” says John Marquis, Sales Director for Industrial Scale Company, Inc. “Before, there wasn’t any way to know how much torque was being applied, but now they can ensure they are meeting the required specifications.”

The TL8500 Tension Links have also yielded increased operational efficiency by reducing the staff and equipment required to perform these types of jobs. “One of the main reasons Intercomp TL8500’s are used is the optional audible alarm available,” continued Marquis, “Combined with their large, easy-to-read display, knowing when the optimal force reading is reached is now a one man job.”
