Happy Dance Like a Chicken Day!
Posted on May 14, 2020
Happy Dance Like a Chicken Day! May 14th is also known as Chicken Dance Day aka a holiday celebrating the dance accompanying the Chicken Dance Song.
The song, also known as the Birdie Song, was composed by Swiss Composer Werner Thomas in the 1950s. Once the movements were added, the song became popular in the West, primarily in the US where it is often performed at parties and weddings.
This dance imitates the movements of a chicken and includes the flapping of the arms and the wriggling of the body.
So how should you celebrate? Maybe have a chicken dance dance-off on a Zoom office call. Or you could get together with friends and organize a socially distanced chicken dance flash mob.
