In 2012 Rinstrum celebrated 20 years of smart weighing, after commencing as Ranger Instruments in 1992 in the Australian market. The name changed to Rinstrum in 2003 to coincide with the establishment of a German office Rinstrum Europe GmbH. Rinstrum has gone from strength to strength and now distributes throughout Australia, Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas. Rinstrum continues to be privately owned and operated with a significant percentage of staff owning shares in the company.
